Lab for Education and Application Prototypes (LEAP) MA Network: a statewide network of cutting-edge photonics facilities enabling prototype fabrication, proof of manufacturing, and creation of high-tech integrated photonics manufacturing jobs across Massachusetts.
MIT LEAP is the original LEAP, launched in 2017 with a $1M M2I2 grant. Located at MIT.nano, it serves as the flagship facility for photonics prototyping and education. Packaging and metrology tools available include MRSI M3 pick-and-place die bonder, several wire bonders, plasma cleaner, vacuum reflow oven, automated imaging microscopy and x-ray inspection tools.
